On the 22nd of January, 2024 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the historic event of installation of Lord Rama’s idol at the Ayodhya Temple. The Ram Janmabhoomi Trust has extended an invitation, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take part in this occasion.

The construction of the Ram Temple commenced following a battle that culminated in the Supreme Court’s verdict in 2019 clearing the path for its construction. The Trust is overseeing the construction of the temple situated within the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth area fulfilling a commitment made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust to grace his presence on January 22 2024 for placing Lord Rama’s idol within the sanctum of the Ram Temple. Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Trust confirmed this event while Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation for this opportunity on his social media account.

“Today we had a gathering, with members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. Were honored to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We have cordially invited him to join us on January 22nd for placing Lord Rama’s idol within the temple sanctum.” Champat Rai informed that the Prime Minister has kindly agreed to join for the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ ceremony, which is scheduled for January 22nd.

“Jai Siya Ram! Today is a day filled with emotions. Right now, officials of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Trust have come to my residence. They invited me to come to Ayodhya on the occasion of the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple. I feel very blessed. It is my fortune to bear witness to this historic occasion,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on his social media account.

The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya began after a long legal battle, concluding with the Supreme Court’s judgment in 2019, which cleared the path for the temple’s construction. Building the Ram Temple at Lord Rama’s birthplace was a significant electoral promise by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision, the government established the ‘Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra’ Trust, which was responsible for all decisions related to temple construction. Especially noteworthy is that the three-story structure of the Ram Temple at the ground level is now complete, and the temple trust has designated January 14, Makar Sankranti, as the starting date for Lord Rama’s consecration.
